I hope Melkor is in it.

Second Age, so no Melkor unless they do a flashback.

Didn't they release a screenshot showing the Two Trees of Valinor? Perhaps that flashback is in the cards.

Could be. I certainly hope so. Frankly, I wish they would have just done The Silmarillion instead of inventing new stories.

Second Age and I totally expect them to open with a major First Age flashback narrated by Galadriel, just like The Lord of the Rings movie trilogy opened with a Second Age flashback narrated by Galadriel. It was epic. That entire opening sequence was incredible and combined with fantastic music, it set the stage perfectly, and it caught everyone up neatly.

They're calling in "The Rings of Power" now? I thought this show was supposed to be about Numenor! Numenor wasn't involved in the forging of the Rings of Power, that was the Noldorin Elves shitshow.

If they wanted to make a *good* show from Tolkien's history of Middle Earth, they'd make one about the second age, and the highly dramatic collapse and destruction of Numenor. What a show that'd make, it'd even make a fantastic film trilogy! Here, I've got a brief outline somewhere...
