Perils of Pauline

Yes, the premise is pretty darn nuts! So, yes, it is more fantasy than science fiction. But, with the lack of original, non sequel movies, I was glad that it was made.

Given that, the movie goes too far in the "Perils of Pauline" mode, where there is constant calamity, where people are hanging by a rope down a shaft, and stuff is falling towards them, and then an earthquake is happening, and everything is about to collapse, etc.

The movie would have been more successful if they had just focused on the main storyline better.

But, still entertaining, in my opinion.
