It was established throughout the entire episode that he DID snitch on Satanic Panic.

FACT: In order to him to be a snitch he would have to be part of the conspiracy to murder the girl. Prove me wrong.

We don't have to prove you anything.

And he didn't know for sure, it was an educated guess. He certainly had enough to go on.
