It had some nice action and I love Charlize but this one just couldn't keep my interest so I kept it mostly in the background. The scenes from the past looked like they were from Xena or something.

Terrible direction, it’s a mess, but watchable mess nonetheless. Charlize is a badass. At first I thought I was watching the Highlander.

I got the same vibe: Highlander without the Quickening thing.. or any vampire flick without the biting and drinking of blood, whatever.

Keeping something "in the background" makes an objective assessment impossible. I thought it was above average.

That's a valid point. I watched it for about 45 minutes before I started doing other stuff because it just didn't interested me that much but I didn't feel like turning it off either.
