Saw a screening

Meh.

It's not terrible or anything, but it just felt like an average episode of the show with better animation that was stretched out to 90 minutes. I can think of handful of episodes of the show that were better than this as well. Still got some laughs out of it, but it really did start to drag towards the end and the climax felt really rushed.

5/10.

I just saw it too. It was exactly how I imagined it would be: a longer but darker and slightly more epic episode of the show, though not too epic. The script could've easily been trimmed down into a 44 minute TV movie. It had its funny moments, though I recognised there were not any big jokes, only small one-off verbal humor jokes worthy of a brief chuckle. I was surprised how dark and intense the movie got towards the end, so that was interesting. Overall, it's decent, but it pails to The Simpsons Movie

I pretty much agree with you. There actually seemed to be less attempts at humor than an episode of the show. It didn't really get funny to me until they were all in the car together. I think if you like the show you'll be able to make it through the movie, but unfortunately it's not an even better version of the show which is what you really should be getting from a movie.

Felt the same way. People seem to pile on the Simpsons movie (for some reason) but at least that went all out. Like you said, this was just an extended episode. Though the animation is pretty good.

Yeah at least The Simpsons movie had the scope and feel of a feature film. Same with the South Park movie. Nothing about the Bobs Burgers movie felt theatrical at all aside from the slightly improved animation.
