Without adding spoilers - is this like an over the top Tarantino movie?

From the ads, it looks like this is sort of a hyperbolic, Tarantino like show...is that so?

It is. I'm surprised that there isn't more mention of this in this board although I'm only judging by the thread titles.

Similar to Inglourious Basterds (spelling?) it suits the premise of the series, but trivializes the historical context in favour of pop-culture entertainment.

There has been quite a bit of discussion on how Tarantino-esque this series is.

It is like Inglourious Basterds, but not nearly as well done.

I just finished watching the 1st series and my impression is it's a cross between the Boys from Brazil and Tarantino light.
