I grew up in the '70's, although, I didn't live in a big city like L.A., but it's hard for me to believe even back then two young kids would take the bus to the porno district in Hollywood by themselves without someone stopping them and saying something, even if it was the police. Then the mother drives off and leaves them there so he can finish his audition.

shareIt was also before 24 hour news and the internet had ramped up fear and paranoia. Nowadays if someone cuts themselves shaving they vomit all over social media for electronic sympathy. We hear about every murder, kidnapping, molestation, and hundreds more almost could have maybe but didn't happenings. In the 80s, parents used to drop me and my friends off at the fair with $20 each and pick us up 8 hours later. We were ten years old. Not only were we on our own but we had to manage that money because there was no one to give us more. You probably think I'm making it up, I'm not.
