I don't think I'll take a recommendation from Kowaski seriously anymore. This kind of movie (no different from About Schmidt, Gran Turino, As Good As It Gets, etc.) is PLAYED OUT. Stop lecturing old people. Stop lecturing white people. Jesus Christ...
I watched this recently on a trip with my dad. He had seen it before, and liked it, so I watched it. Five minutes into it, I felt I'd seen it before. Just a very familiar ("played out) as you say) story, and predictable to a T. The Mexican woman Marisol was the only good thing about it. She was amusing and funny, but this whole move was like a Hallmark TV production.
It had some redeeming scenes and characters but I recall the end going completely off the rails with the corporate real estate company stealing people’s medical records to discriminate against them and the extended advertisement for electric vehicles. I think that was this movie
You're mistaken. You're thinking of the movie where a child insists his imaginary friend accompany his family on a picnic and then murders everyone in the park with an industrial spork when a dog accidentally shits on the imaginary friend's face.
