Finally a woke film that is watchable...and enjoyable! (semi-spoilers)

Well if you're gonna do a dramedy that has to have wokeness in it...this is the way to do it. The film checked all the boxes for wokeness but at the same time, it wasn't all in your face to the point where you want to throw up. It covered EVERY aspect of woke and diversity but to be perfectly honest...it was hardly noticeable.

mexican middle-class family - check
black middle-class family - check
no nuclear white family - check
climate change - check
soyboy good for nothing WEAK husband - triple check
strong female lead - check
alphabet people - check
guns are dangerous - check
toxic masculinity - double check
unborn baby died - check

A HUGE list I know but Hanks does it again. His character will suck you in and you'll find yourself fully invested. Say what you will about the man's politics but his acting chops are on point! The only thing I found offensive about the story was making the Mexican guy a soyboy who didn't know how to use tools. That is the biggest fiction in the world...no Mexican man would ever fall off a ladder or not know how to install a dishwasher.

If you're staying away from this because of woke nonsense...don't. You will be needing a bottle of wine, a box of tissue, and a snuggie. The movie is an emotional rollercoaster ride so buckle up and enjoy!

The whole thing was a Biden America commercial. You forgot about evil corporations being to blame for the bus accident and also having the mysterious ability to access private medical records which they somehow used to steal the homes of people who owned them. And the little vignette about how public school teachers have to provide social and mental support for kids because their own parents hate and ostracize them. This movie was so condescending it had to force feed the audience that the Mexican lead character was capable of - oh my God - having a college degree! Apparently the lib writers felt an audience could never imagine a hispanic woman would be college educated without seeing proof of diplomas on the wall. Loved how the movie morphed into an electric car commercial at the end

OP--thanks for the warning. I won't waste any time on this woke crap. I've seen the original, so I don't need it anyway.

The only good thing was the fluffy cat.
He didn’t get enough lines.
