Did IT really kidnap Eddie's mother and strap her to a chair in the basement of Keene's Pharmacy so that the Leper could torture her and Eddie try to save her, or were both Sonia and the Leper IT manifestations to terrify Eddie? I think the latter, to be honest.

shareI haven't seen the movie yet, but I'm pretty sure his mom is just an illusion created by Pennywise/IT. I've read the book, and if I remember correctly, Eddie's mom is already dead/passed away (I think from old age) during the 27 years later. So the movie is probably doing that and didn't give any hints she died/passed away. I think his mom was dead too in the adult half of the Tim Curry movie.
