Of course the writing, directing and acting should help inform your opinion and impression but YOU have to bring something to the table.
Not going to speak for "Meg" but BlacKkKlansman is more than what you typed and there are moments in BlacKkKlansman that are just brilliant. The filmmaking by Spike Lee in this is quite masterful if one chooses to allow themselves to SEE it.
