So, Beck found out Joe was a serial killer, and she actually had the chance to RUN when he was in the bathroom, but instead she stuck around, made up some flimsy excuse, and waited for him to come out?
What the hell is wrong with her?!
I still wonder how Karen found out, though. I am guessing Beck will be saved somehow.
She wasn't sure what to believe in that moment, because Joe had just given her some convincing explanations and even though she felt like something was very wrong, she didn't want to jump to conclusions again.

I don't like the idea of bringing back Candace like that, which is almost certainly Joe's imagination. Also I thought Beck was gonna turn out to be a next-level psycho who could flip the script on Joe, but anything close to that was just an act on her part.
shareI also didn't like it that they never did explain how Karen got all that inside info. It was as if she read his diary or something (although I doubt someone like Joe would keep a diary).
If they do go into that next season, it won't have that kind of impact, unless I suppose she is still heavily present throughout the season.
But I don't know, season 1 finale kinda killed the show for me. :(
The finale does kind of disappoint...or maybe that's not the right word.
[spoiler] But the way Joe is capable of seducing the audience, along with the object of his obsession, does feel like it dies along with his obsession.
Most of his kills, with the exception of one, were not justified yet still we could hang in there and try to find ways to justify them (at least for a tv show) until it comes down to Beck.
Beck was not always that likable yet if he's doing everything for her (in his mind) ..then offing her just makes him no more than the typical psychopath that really loves no one but himself. And making her just an insecure vulnerable princess that choose snobbish, rich entitled friends and just wanted attention and to feel special makes it an ordinary tale.
Of course that is the reality, I know....
but I was hoping to be able to somehow still see him with some empathy.
Better if Beck had flipped on him like Winslow suggested...or if she had had the presence of mind to play along with Joe and survive but have us all wondering what she'd do.
We know now no matter how much he charms us that he's just a charming psychopath so in Season 2 there won't be the same degree of intensity...so I'm not sure how it can maintain being compelling for the audience...
Will we still wrestle with ourselves over our inability to dislike him?

To me Joe is a completely creepy and repugnant character.
Ron could be justified..although I'm not personally justifying murder..just saying that hes the only one that could be rationalized..and even understood.
Ron was an evil man that the system couldn't reach and he appeared to be in the process of maybe finally murdering Paco. Or hurting him badly at the very least..
The others were maybe shallow narcissistic users but none deserved his extreme measures.
Joe is a sociopath that is creepy and repugnant but he's also charming and does a lot of lying and evading even to himself..
Oh, right, I forgot about Ron.
Yeah, that douche needed to go or that poor family would have never been rid of him.
I was thinking about Dexter as well while watching the show. He, Dexter, at least made thorough research about the people he offed. Joe, on the other hand, acted without having a concrete plan or a backup plan for when things go to sht. Okay, maybe he did. Maybe he was also acting in his voice-overs to make it seem that he didn't have a plan... or that he would somehow fck things up for himself. Ugh. Whatever he did, props to him because I felt so dang stressed watching him navigate all the killings he did.

And when she said "or worse yet - what he did to Candace", that was a little too uncanny.
I think she just put two and two together, she noticed him behaving differently since they bumped into Beck, and soon after he dumped her.
And about the Candace thing, Karen said to Beck that she probably isn’t such a deep sleeper as she is. Implying that she heard Joe talking in his sleep when he had nightmares about Candance.
I am wondering if Candace's being alive or dead is not going to be given to us in Season 2 if there is one, and that we will be watching not knowing if she is really there or if she's in his mind....
That would make it interesting. If she's just alive, then....not so much.
