Who is buying? Available on Blu-Ray and 4K (~$30.00).

I'm just curious if the home media version for The Joker will see much love or is the film destined to be consumed more via Streaming.

There are quite a few reasons people still buy physical media and some of the checkboxes in favor of purchasing The Joker might remain blank.

Add to the Comic Book collection?
Add to the Batman collection?
Oscar Collectable? (Potential: Best movie, Best actor, Best script, Best Director?)
Re-Watchability?

For whatever the reason(s) how many here have bought The Joker and/or are thinking of buying it on Blu-Ray or 4K, and why?

I want to rewatch it and I enjoyed it enough that I don’t mind getting a physical copy. I was going to just get a cheap digital code but I kind of like buying the random Blu Ray every now and again. I normally only buy physical copies of older horror movies. Basket Case 2 and 3 most recently.

I myself haven't bought it yet. As an avid collector of certain types of films this one just feels like a One-Off with no real added value to a series or franchise.

I'm the same. With old horror movies. (The Basket Case movies are great, by the way.)

As I said in another post, I don't have Netflix because they don't really have the sort of horror movies I like. I like 70s/80s slashers, and b-movies like you.

Recently I have been wondering about Amazon Prime. Because my horror movie DVD collection seems to take up a lot of space in my bedroom and living room. But will probably hold out for a while, as I must have 50 DVDs waiting to watch in my home already. Ha Ha.

I prefer Prime all around and it most definitely better for Horror. Especially, for some of the older stuff. Netflix blows pretty hard for Horror fans.

I still enjoy physical copies and the cover art but it really isn’t practical to have hundreds of dvds/Blu Rays laying around. I try to keep it favorites or things I bought just to check out that I couldn’t find streaming. I have a few Scream Factory releases that are waiting to be watched and a watch list on Prime.

You ever look for full movies on YouTube? That’s where I watched House 4.

It's down to me always buying stuff on Amazon, and the DVDs not being there but I see it on Prime.

I think I can get it through my TV through my cable box, so I did wonder if it was worth the effort. What puts me off is that I have enought to watch without it. I wonder if it's worth stopping buying DVDs, watch my way through the ones I already have and then decide whether I want it.

Yeah, I broke myself of just buying dvds all the time back when I couldn’t really afford it. Oh, new movies are out that I’ve never watched and probably won’t even like? SOLD! Very discerning buyer now with physical copies. I am more likely to buy cheap digital codes.
I would definitely eat through what you have on hand and then do a free trial of Prime.

I've watched one full-movie on YouTube and I don't want YouTube RED. (Yes advertisements/full commercials are tiresome on YouTube without Red.) I have a Disney+, Netflix and Hulu account now and won't be adding any more.

I’m definitely not getting RED. There seems to be some decent obscure horror on YouTube that no one cares enough about to get taken down.
I have Disney that I don’t really like much. I also have Netflix and Hulu that I really only use to rewatch stuff and a little original programming. I use Prime more than anything and occasionally subscribe to HBO and Shudder through them.

I do sometimes look on YouTube, and have watched a couple of movies on my tablet.

Still prefer DVDs now. Some DVDs I own have since been uploaded to YouTube.

I have the problem you suggest. I have hundreds of DVDs lay around, and about 50 unwatched. I may have to turn over to streaming eventually, but have always been a bit stuck in my ways.

Like I said, I really only got broke out of the dvd habit out of necessity at the time. No reason to stop if you have no don’t really want to or need to.

Have you checked out the free Horror on Vudu or even Tubi?

It is going to be a while before Joker reaches the $5.00 bin for DVD. So far the interest level for an immediate purchase is low.

Methinks those Oscar wins will keep the price of the Joker media above the "Priced to move" status. WB is making a mint on this film.

I'm quite old fashioned. Don't have Netflix or Amazon Prime or any of those things, so anything I have is DVD still.

Saying that, I'm in the UK so won't be getting it on DVD from Walmart. Ha Ha.

Much though I liked it, I'm not sure if it's something I'll need to own. It'll be on TV soon enough.

I may get this one when the price comes down but will hold off for now since I bought it to stream on Amazon. Had the blu Ray come out at the same time as the streaming version I may have gone with that but I wanted to watch it again last month and for whatever reason they released the streaming version weeks earlier.

Because I prefer physical media I buy media in combo packaging, 4K Blu-Ray and the digital codes.

I rented it and enjoyed it. I will be buying this on bluray. I usually stream a movie or rent it on disc before I buy a physical copy.

I'm not much of a comic book person but I enjoy the Batman/ Joker entries.

I bought the Blu-ray because I really loved the movie and wanted to rewatch it.
