I wish the Batman (DC universe) references were a little more subtle

And leave the audience to connect the dots themselves. When you openly call the city "Gotham" it's a bit too obvious.

A rich guy named "Wayne" with his wife getting killed in an alley with their son as a witness would have been enough.

Does anyone else agree?

What, so they're not allowed to name the city that The Joker lives in?

I don't see the point in not mentioning it. Would you be upset if they mentioned Metropolis in a Superman movie?

That's dumb.

These movies should be like Marvel with a fully integrated universe. It has been a winning formula for about a 100 years.
