Timeline should have been handled more swifter

Miguel and some of his peers were like 15 when the show started six years ago and they're basically 17 now, which means the show is happening in not only a two-year period, but clearly still stuck in pretty much the Covid time or maybe even before that (2019) since filming began in 2017. Ugh, for the show to be quite a few years behind is ridiculous, especially when you have characters like Kenny and Anthony who aged pretty rapidly in this short two-year span from when we first seen them to now. It doesn't quite help they had that year off when the strike happened and we had no new episodes then.

For the latest season, I think a time jump was needed to keep the show current meaning Miguel and his peers are already in college or on their way out the door.

I understand what your saying about the timeline issue, but the story itself needed alot of work. It was old drying out in season 5. Then season 6 was the same crap. I only finished through because I've seen 5 seasons already and i had a glimmer of hope they'd turn it around. But nope

Season 6 definitely could have been that redemption for something more different if they did a time jump and a lot of the characters moved on. I didn't mind the overall story, but I don't like how the timeline wasn't really moving. I think Season 3 was a great opportunity to showcase some new leads when Kenny and Anthony took focus for a bit rather than sticking with the Miguel/Robbie/Sam/Tory/Hawk/Demetri group and the show continued being set in a different year each season to accommodate the aging of the kids.

I agree with you there. Season 5 was really too much of the same old for me, but i stomached through it. Should've stopped there. But im 2/3s the way through 6 so I'll finish in February
