Why is season 6 in two parts?

I got kinda miffed when episode 5 ended and was now told to wait until fucking November for the next 5. Also, Please tell me they’re not doing the WW2 story about Mr. Miyagi coming to America. The world doesn’t need any more WW2 shit.

reply

Just think of it as season 7, and part 3 will be season 8

reply

Oh wow that makes it way better!

reply

It makes it better because you are only waiting till Nov now for the next season, opposed to waiting a year or longer like in previous seasons

You're right! I'm gonna go on with my life as planned! Everything is fine and dandy. I've been fine before, and I've been dandy like maybe once or twice before, but never have I been fine AND dandy simultaneously! Thank you for sorting out my debilitating depression.

Glad I was able to help

It isn't, it's in 3 parts. 5 in July, 5 in November, and the last 5 in 2025.

To “keep the conversation going” or some bullshit like that. Netflix did the same thing with Stranger Things season 4.

They’re at this weird phase where they don’t wanna go full weekly, but they still wanna pad things out. The whole appeal of Netflix was getting all the episodes at once. If they’re gonna pull this shit, then what is the point of them? They’re just another generic streaming service at this point.

EDIT: some people say that it's to keep subscribers from coming and going for their favorite shows, which I guess makes sense, but if you think about it, all that means is people will cancel and resubscribe more often, or they'll just wait until the whole season is out. Either way, nobody's sticking around just because they're splitting seasons up.

I get that a lot of people will binge watch a series when released, but I never did (**well, once but that was different).

Even if they drop 5 at a time, my wife and I will only watch one a week or two on a week end at most. For me, watching them all at once is like sitting through a 12 hour movie.

** the one time I binged was when The Sopranos was coming back for season 4 and I had not seen a single one at that point. My brother dropped off his DVD set and I watched three or four a night until I caught up the night before HBO brought the new season - which was one episode per week!

I'm not saying you gotta binge all the episodes at once, even I don't do that. I personally watch 3-4 episodes a day so that I finish a season over the weekend. Most Netflix-original shows are like 8-10 episodes so it works out fine.

Not looking for a fight, but isn't watching a whole season of an anticipated show over a few days kind of like finishing a ten gallon tub of ice cream in a weekend?

I'll admit I'm probably a *lot* older than you and grew up watching series that were released week by week. People today grow up in a world where a series being released at once is normal.

I understand that a lot of people like watching a series all at once - I found that out when I visited MC for a series the day after it was released and found the last episode spoiler in some posts. I learned not to visit a MC page until I finish the series.

What ticks me off though (not related to what you're saying) is if I should look at a Karate Kid page and discover Cobra Kai spoilers LOL

I don't get the impression that you're looking for a fight.

If you don't wanna binge a whole bunch of episodes at once, that's cool. But as you acknowledged, many people do, and that's why Netflix was so appealing. If the show is good, I'm gonna get through it as fast as possible because I wanna see what happens next. If you like to take your time, that's fine, and you can.

What I don't like is when Netflix takes their time to pad out hype and/or keep people subscribed, when the whole point of their marketing was a streaming service that drops all episodes of a season on the same day.

it's worse. it's 3 parts!

it's to keep subscriber from unsubscribing after finishing their fav show.
