To my knowledge the inside is threaded like a big screw. That is how the cement is kept liquified. The drum rotates one way to keep it wet and mixed. When it wants to pour the drum is rotated the opposite way and the cement rides the threads up and out the spout.
A drum isn't hollow and smooth like that.
Ok, I looked up some pictures.
It seems like that would potentially make it easier with something to grip on.
Either way, it would seem like people running on the inside would never be able to move it like that.
