Should Season 3 be the last one?
I would hate for this show to overstay its welcome.
shareIt probably won't be, but yes, it probably should be. I think they went down a real slippery slope at the end of season 2 with that massive gang fight at the school. There's really no redeeming some of those characters after that.
shareGiven Netflixs capacity to cancel shows after season three. I'm pretty sure 3 will be the last. Which is ok. We got 15 more hours in the Karate Kid universe which I never thought I would see....so I'm good now.
shareProbably. Season one was great, and Season 2 was . . . not bad. If they're going to justify continuing after S3 then they'll need some really clever writing.
shareAgreed. They took some liberties with some mixed results but yes it would have to be really well written
shareAs you may have heard, the show has been sold to Netflix. It seems to me that if Netflix was going to go through the trouble of acquiring the property then they would have bigger plans than just posting S3 and stopping there. But I guess we'll see.
S2 was okay but also had some really dumb shit (like Stingray). I regard it as a sophomore slump. We'll see if they got their mojo back for the third season.
In one article I read there was talk of producing a spin-off. I wonder if they could possibly wrap up Johnny and Daniel's story after season 3 and then do this spinoff with all these other lame characters from then on.
shareI read something about that as well. I guess we'll see how it goes. To me, Johnny Lawrence IS the show. Without him, the show would be fundamentally different and not nearly as entertaining. It's hard to imagine a spin-off without him being high-quality entertainment, but I would welcome being proven wrong.
shareIt's a good question. I'd much rather it the show be short really strong then go for several seasons with a lot of hit and miss or worse.
