Release Day!!

Today at 1:00 PM Easter Time. Anyone else signing up for Youtube Red for this?

reply

I signed up for a free month's trial. I don't know that I'll want to watch anything besides Cobra Kai that will keep me onboard past a month, but time will tell.

reply

That's exactly how I feel although I may stay on for one month after the trial ends because I love what I've seen so far of CK and I do want to support the show. Unfortunately I'm not seeing much other original content on YTRed that really interests me so I doubt I'll stick around beyond that.

reply

Is Cobra Kai not being released all at once, a la a Netflix streaming show? Will I have to wait more than a month to see the first season in its entirety?

reply

It's all released now so you can watch it all at once. I'll probably finish it by this weekend.

reply

Ok, good, that's what I thought. When you wrote that you may pay for an additional month I worried we'd have to wait. I'd gladly pay $10 a month if there were other shows worth watching, but this seems to be about it for now.

Two episodes in, and I really like it so far.

reply

I just finished 5, it's awesome!

reply

"There's no girls in Cobra Kai."

"Why not?"

"Same reason there's no women in the Army. Doesn't make sense."

I love Johnny Lawrence.

reply

Finished episode 7 and have concluded that it might be the greatest show ever made.

reply

Watched the first 5 before going to work, and really wanted to skip work to finish the season. I just got home, and will report back once I've watched the rest. Good stuff.

reply

Just finished it! Loved it and I pray it gets an order for another season!

You left out the next line, equally great:

"Women aren't meant to fight. They have tiny hollow bones."

It's a joke line, but actually has some truth to it.

I'm as liberal as they come, but even I know there are physiological differences between men & women. Joe Rogan was talking about it once: a transgender woman is dominating female MMA because her bone density and muscle mass developed while she was biologically male.

Something really weird (to me): men dominate women at professional pool. What difference should muscle mass and bone density make playing pool?

For those wanting to get a taste of the continuation series, check out the first 2 episodes free. I'm loving it so far. No PC/SJW pussy bullcrap from the guidance counselor. :P

That's interesting to get the take of someone who wasn't a big fan of the movies. I loved it too but thought I was probably looking at it through rose colored glasses.

Sat down last night to watch the first two episodes and ended up watching nine. I only have the finale left.

Fucking AWESOME show! It really touched that element of myself that is forever young and obsessed with martial arts. And in the era of MMA, it's cool to see a TMA like Karate get some shine.

Since the episodes are only 30ish minutes it's a shame there are only 10 in the season.

This really captures exactly how I feel about it as well! It's going to be a longggg wait until season 2...

reply

When I first heard they would be 30 mins episodes instead of the usual 45ish+ my expectations were lowered. The runtime seemed to work really well somehow though. Like they felt a bit longer than they really were. But yeah the 10 episode run is a shame.

Just finished it, and it was great!

Loved what they did with the characters, history, ect.

I want more!

reply

So cool seeing others embracing this show!!

reply

& now I'm torn again. I'll probably end up on the Red.
