Just saw the teaser . . .
I'm pumped!
sharethe problem i have already with this is, that they could have gone so many different ways and chose the cheesiest one by bringing back the rivalry between the two main characters from the first film. not to speak of that daniel san wasn't really 100% the good guy to begin with.
shareThe teaser didn't give you much to go on. Maybe Daniel-san discovers the true path to victory lies in the mantra of "No Mercy," and Johnny is a-comin'-round to "sweep the leg (and by 'leg', I mean 'face')" and knock some sense into him.
Probably not, though.
true, but even though the trailer did not give much away, it focused a 100% on the rivalry, which would be the most boring route that they would go for. i hope they finish the first season with johnny and daniel-san to disover that all that violence was just a way for both of them to oppress their love for each other. they should marry, while the ghost of mister miyagi appears in the background and approves. xD
shareSome kinda Brokeback Dojo. Good call.
shareSaw the first two episodes and it's definitely not a black and white situation as to who is right and who is wrong. Can't wait to see where it goes.
shareI'd like to see Julie Pierce make an appearance at some point.
shareI'd like to pretend that movie was never created.
Well I liked it and I'm sure i'm not alone. She should make an appearance.
shareIt's splits on Rotten Tomatoes are 7%/24% and 4.4 on IMDB. You may not be alone but it's a very small group.
shareThe movie is part of the history of that series either way and shouldn't be ignored. Besides who knows? This series might do a better job with her character than the original movie that featured her did.
Sometimes things like this can change peoples minds. I hope it happens.
It still has no ties to any of the current characters. The girl never met Johnny nor LaRusso nor any of their peers. Let this monstrosity die.
shareLet this monstrosity die.
Doesn't mean she can't meet them now. I still hope it happens.
shareTo me, the tone seems a little too comedic.
And there seems to be a bit of a reversal, with Daniel as this big successful snarky salesman who still likes to rub a single karate match victory in Johnny's face thirty years later (really??). And Johnny now seems like he's kind of aimless and down on his luck, and ends up regaining his focus by coming to those kids' aid and teaching them to be strong (kind of like Miyagi, but with a harder edge).
Anyway, I don't want to have to pay for yet *another* streaming service to be able to watch this. That's the annoying thing about all these subscription services and their exclusive shows. Maybe it'll show up on Netflix in a few years.
This is true, about the pay service. Maybe after a year it will be free on youtube.
