You see that the Kidman character is the actual killer of the victim at the murder scene where she, as a police detective, arrives as unwanted help, in the first scene. It's a complicated revenge tale about a conflicted, dirty cop.

Yes, watch the last five minutes first if you want the blatantly intentional last minute plot twist spoiled for you at the very beginning.

I think the director and actors would be unhappy to learn that knowing the plot "twist" will ruin the movie for you. Have you ever watched a movie twice?
