The Commercials in the Movie and On the "Extended Scenes" DVD Section(SPOILERS)

Three noteable commercials in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, one in the movie, and two in the DVD "Extended Scenes" section:

In the movie:

ONE: Leo DiCaprio as Rick Dalton on the Bounty Law set pushing Red Apple cigarettes. Its a throwback to a REAL commercial done by Steve McQueen when he was on "Wanted Dead or Alive" and it reminds us: cigarette TV commercials(banned from 1971 on) sure used to make cigarette smoking sound DELICIOUS while still taking note of the abrasive quality of smoke. All that imagery about great flavor and less burn and bite...yum.

On the DVD :

TWO: A more generic "Red Apple" commercial(circa 1969 as filmed by QT) with these folks being asked "Would YOU take a bite of a red apple?"

Man in eyeglasses and suit: "Sure." (Bites a red apple...a real one.)

Pretty 30-ish woman: "Sure!" (Does the same).

Hot black woman with fro' and attitude: "Sure, baby" (and takes a "bite" of a Red Apple cigarette.)

Noteable: it MIGHT be QT's own voice in narration. Some how the superfast way the announcer says "Red Apple" and bites down on the word feels like QT's voice to me.

Noteable: The trademark logo on each cigarette pack(and pipe tobacco pack) has the worm looming out of the apple with a rather creepy human face and cigarette in "his" mouth.

Noteable: "Burt Reynolds" appears at the end, saying that he, too would "take a bite of a red apple." Its James Marsden doing a passable Burt impression. Passable. Not great, but funny enough.

THREE:

I have to linger on one great commercial for a fake product that Brad Pitt drinks all through the film: "Old Chattanooga" beer. The 1969-era fake commercial for this beer, narrated by a honey-voiced drawler of an old Southern Man(who calls it "Olllllllddd ChatanOOGA") , makes you CRAVE the rich foamy brew -- its like QT has another career waiting in commercials. In 1969.

I like the "Old Chatteanooga" beer commercial the best...
