That’s more like Hollywood’s 2nd Golden Age; I guess we could say Silver Age.

I’d say the Golden Age was 30s-45.

I'd go with from the late '60s up until "Jaws" & "Star Wars" started the Blockbuster era in the late '70s.

Once Hollywood became about the big budgets more than the actors and stories, that was it.

That is ONE of Hollyweird's Golden Ages. The other two were the 1930's and 1940's.

Here are 10 great films from each decade in no particular order:

1930's: Gone With The Wind, The Wizard of Oz, King Kong, City Lights, Modern Times, Mr. Smith Goes to Washington, Duck Soup, A Night at the Opera, It Happened One Night, and Stagecoach.

1940's: Casablanca, Key Largo, The Treasure of the Sierra Madre, The Maltese Falcon, Citizen Kane, The Third Man, It's A Wonderful Life, Miracle on 34th Street, The Philadelphia Story, and The Grapes of Wrath.

Yes you're right I overlooked the 30's and 40's since I wasn't around..I chose the time when I was alive, totally biased. I'm glad you mentioned a couple of Marx Bros. and I think Gone With The Wind is the biggest blockbuster ever when adjusted for inflation.

You're welcome. We all tend to concentrate on things which occur in our own lifetimes. And I think you're correct about GWTW.
