Kristen Wiig cast as Cheetah!

Can this movie get any more red hot?

This is going to be a box office monster!

reply

lol

remember when for 2 months before JL came out you constantly claimed JL was going to dominate and the reason why was because "JL was RED HOT coming off Wonder Woman"

lololol

Also, The casting of Wig in this role seems so off and ODD, the role of Cheetah almost has to be something not even in the ball park of the comics

At this point, I'm saying this is a terrible casting choice, and due to WBs terrible history so far with Casting in the DCEU, I think all signs are pointing to this being A HUGE miscast as welll

I'll never forget the IMDB boards back in 2014 and 15...When Affleck was cast, Eisenberg was Cast, Leto Was cast....

I swear to god, the damn theme for DC fans became "So everybody said Ledger was a terrible casting choice too, how that turn out"

lol, So while 4 years ago, it may have been exceptable to say or think "Well its an Odd choice casting Affleck + Esienberg but I'll and reserve my judgement until I see the film"

at this point, we can just say "Yep looks like WB screwed up again and once again Miscast another important role"

lol Eisenberg was/is the single biggest miscast in Hollywood history as lex, Other than "Martha", Jesse was the most universally Hated part of BvS....

Leto actually wasnt Miscast, He had the chops for that role, ultimately it proved to be a Miscast when Leto simply gave an ALL TIME awful Performance/take on the character, A Performance so awful, Letos Joker had to be drastically cut out of the film

then Theres Affleck as Batman...Ultimately another Miscast because Affleck was ready to quit after 1 film...Affleck was actually the single best thing about BvS...Unfortunately The movie was so awful, The director was so Clueless, Affleck was Embarrassed and Broken and wanted nothing to do with The DCEU after BvS...I cant blame him, but His comments and public acknowledgment of wanting out of the role, really hurt the DCEU and Hype for future films, Cavil and Gadot didnt want out after BvS failed, Affleck did, and thats what ultimately makes it a miscast and bad casting....Its also worth noting, Afflecks role and Performance in JL wasnt nearly as Great as BvS, as much Praise as Affleck got for BvS, just as many mentioned he was wooden and just going through the motions in JL

WB has hits some good one too to be fair....Gadot has been great, Robbie as Harley was Great, Cavil is any unknown still, the 3 DCEU films hes been in was under the DEATH SENTENCE of Zack Snyder where Cavil had emotionless and robotic lines and arks...

Ultimately I think hes a decent Superman, but I highly question his acting ability after seeing Man From UNCLE and The Cold Light Of Day....Its also worth noting Cavil was in "Immortals" which was a direct ripoff of "300"....Cavil's role in Immortals was basically the same as Gerard Butler's role in 300....Yet Cavil in No way brought "Bad Ass-ness" that Butler Brought..

I think its entirely possible Cavil just isnt a good enough actor to Play A Great Superman, But I also have no doubt he hasnt even gotten the chance yet under Snyders DEATH REIGN...

at this point based on WBs Awful history of casting DCEU characters...I'd say theres a 80% chance Wig Will be awful and another Miscast

reply

I'd be shocked if this wasn't even more successful than the first(which was already crazy-huge).

reply

why would you be shocked....It would just be continuing the pattern....

Wonder Woman made 800 M+....her very next film made 657 M....

Clearly Audiences didnt show up to see her again....it wouldnt be a shock if this continued with WW2

I see Wonder Woman 2 making between 700 to 800 Million...I dont think theres any way possible WW2 gets the excellent reviews WW got...I think WW2 Will be good, But it will universally be looked as a slight step down from WW(Maybe something like 78 to 83% on RT)

I see WW2 making between 90 to 115 Opening Weekend, and not having near the staying power the first had due to its "Womens movement"

A final domestic gross between 290 to 330 M

and WW gross between 700 to 800 M...

If WW2 is a disaster like most of the other DCEU films...were looking at a HUGE box office drop...

PS so you know I'm not biased....I feel the same way about Black Panther 2...

I think Black Panther 2 Will also have a drop, BP1 is going to make between 1.1 to 1.2 B+.....

I see BP 2 making between 850 to 1 B tops....

like With WW2, I dont see BP having near The Holds or Staying power of BP...

BP's awesome holds and staying Power has a ton to do with its Cultural Impact....BP2 simply wont have the same level....

at this point, its almost against all common sense to expect WW2 or BP2 to perform as well as their predecessors, these films Drastically Over performed as a direct result of Their cultural impact, these Impacts can not be duplicated or replicated for their sequels....

I know common sense isnt your strong point queen...But you have to read this and at least somewhat understand what I'm saying...

These 2 films both had WAY Above average holds for CBM's, BOTH WAY out performed expectations...this was due to BOTH films being the "first" of their kind, having Huge cultural impact With Women and Black People...

this Will not be the same in the sequels.

again you dont think about stuff like this, your not bright when it comes to box office...I do...

reply

"again you dont think about stuff like this, your not bright when it comes to box office...I do..."

LOL...says the guy who predicts WW2 could have an actually LOWER first weekend(90-115 million) then the first(105 million). Anyone who thinks WW2 will have an OW below 100 million has lost all credibility.

reply

^^^

did you really just talk OPENING WEEKENDS?

did you really just talk LOSING CREDIBILITY?

you MISSED by 71 Million on The Last Jedi's Opening Weekend....

You MISSED by 56 Million On Justice League Opening Weekend...

You MISSED by 81 Million On Black Panther Opening Weekend....

lol dear god, think before you post...Opening Weekends is A NO GO for you...if there is one thing you should avoid at ALL COSTS its opening weekend, without exaggerating at all..Its safe to say...you truly may be the worst predictor of Opening Weekend of All time....Most people could NOT MISS by 70 Million if the intentionally tried, yet you do it and consistent basis

LOL...says the guy who predicts WW2 could have an actually LOWER first weekend(90-115 million) then the first(105 million). Anyone who thinks WW2 will have an OW below 100 million has lost all credibility.

Now to this

I'm sorry but my memory is fuzzy, whats was JLs opening weekend?

was it ummmmmmm lower than WW's 105 Million?

I think it was right, wasnt it 94 M?

hummmmmmm, thats ODD, Considering Wonder Woman was in Justice League, JL came out directly AFTER WW, yet made less Opening Weekend than WW....

WW2 would just be continuing this same pattern...

I dont think you under stand box office at all..

Wonder Womans tracking put it at opening around 70 to 75 M....but then reviews hits, and The huge "Woman's movement" hit...

The Point is, Wonder Woman Drastically Over Performed(again so you dont think I'm biased, Black Panther just did the exact same thing as well)...

Wonder Womans 100 M+ opening Weekend was a direct result of the movie getting a Huge Push from Women and Media((again so you dont think I'm biased, Black Panther just had the exact same Push that resulted in It Drastically Over Perorming)...

The Point is, Its clear BOTH Wonder Woman and Black Panther would have opened Much LOWER had They not been "First" of their kinds that Got A HUGE amount of media and Goodwill from Their Cultural Impacts...

WW was tracking at 70 to 75 M....BP was tracking at 90 to 100 M....then They exploded.....

They WILL NOT happen again for their sequels

you cant get much more Goodwill and Buzz than these 2 films got heading into their opening Weekends, at this point it can ONLY go down...

Wonder Woman got Excellent reviews and Had a huge Womens movement behind it and It over performed the tracking with a 105 M opening...Its entirely possible WW2 can only go down from here .

WW2 Will not get the excellent reviews that WW got and Will not even CLOSE get the media attention and Push from Women...Tracking Will probably put WW2 at around 100 M on OW,depending on reviews, It Will either go slightly up from there or slightly down(therefor my 90 to 115 is probably going to be DEAD ON)...WW2 isnt going to jump out tracking at 150 M or anything like that...It Will be close to what the first film opened to, then Will go up or down depending on The films reception

again so you know I'm not biased, I expect it to be even worse for BP2....no film in history got the push BP got in its last 2 weeks....BP just completely exceeded all expectations due to the unprecedented Push it got for its Cultural importance...

I expect BP2's OW to be around 150 to 170 M

you are just Ignore facts if you believe WW2 or BP2 is gonna perform similar to their predecessors.

and Opening Weekend arent even the big thing here....

The real Fall With both films is going to be their DOMESTIC totals....

WW and BP are having Absurd, completely beyond normal Domestic runs...

WW had near a 4.0X multiplier, BP Will have a 3,0X +

theres ZERO chance these films duplicate that with their sequels

again Both films had HISTORIC holds for CBM's due to the Media and Huge Movement both film caused...

reply

look at the number of CBM's that had simila or better reviews than WW...there are almost a dozen CBM's that had simila or better reviews than WW....NONE even remotely had the Holds WW had domestically, that is 100% proof, WW's Excellent Holds were the direct result of The Women Movement behind the film

again so you no I'm not biased, same With BP

the point is...WW2 even With Great reviews, has no chance of performing Domestically like WW1 did..WW2 Will now fit in With the other Dozen CBMs that had 90% + RT scores and Will just have good holds...instead of Inflated Historic Holds...

WW2 is looking at at least a 50 to 100 Million dollar LESS domestic Gross

BP2 IMO Will be looking at at least a 150 to 200 Million dollar LESS domestic Gross

World Wide Gross, Wont be much different...The DCEU film have been extremely similar...it looks like 380 to 450 ish is the norm now for DCEU films

and again your completely Ignoring A HUGE Indicator here(and I specifically used IGNORE because thats exactly what you are doing)

Justice League came out after Wonder Woman...and It as I'm predicting, In no WAY came close to WW's succeed..the pattern is already here..Wonder Womans very next film, in no way performed like WW

and heres the KICKER...You predicted it Would...you spent MONTHS claiming.Justice League Would be RED HOT because of Wonder Woman...You predicted and expected Justice League Open HUGE and Dominate at the box office and Your exact reason for thinking that was.....it was coming out after Wonder Woman....

you know right now there is a HUGE PROBLEM...you know right now you were Wrong about JL, you know right now, in WWs very next film Audiences didnt show up.....yet you are choosing to IGNORE that....

If Wonder Woman truly was a Box office Juggernaut or DC's "RDJ/Iron Man"....then J.L would have opened HUGE and Done HUGE box office...

but thats not the case....Wonder Woman over performed due to its circumstances, in her very next film when those Circumstances were taken away, Her next film in no way performed like WW

again so you know I'm not biased, I expect the same thing with BP....Avengers IW is due out in 2 months and While I expect it to open over 200 million...I do not expect it to perform historically great domestically like BP....and I dont expect BP himself to be the selling point which causes IW to open over 200 M...

Anyone who thinks WW2 will have an OW below 100 million has lost all credibility.

^^^

considering your credibility was already Lost after somehow Impossibly MISSING by 70 Million + on the last 3 films OW.....you probably not the best person to talk about "Losing Credibility"

but If you cant at least entertain the Idea that WW2 may struggle to Perform as Well as WW1...you are simply Delusional...

there is already clear Proof that Audiences didnt return to see her very next film, There is Zero Chance WW2 receives the excellent reviews WW1 got and Zero chance WW2 gets The Media and Huge Womens movement that WW1 got that was directly responsible for WW1 over performing tracking and having Historic never before seen Domestic Holds for a CBM....If you cant see that everything about WW1 box office run was "abnormal" , again you are delusional...

WW2 may very well be a Huge hit...But its going to struggle in every way to perform better than WW1

same With BP2...

You simply can NOT replicate the Hype,Goodwill, and Cultural Impact these films had in there final month leading up to thier release that Directly lead to these 2 film MASSIVELY exceeded expectations and over performing...

look if WW and BP had these type of expectations from the beginning, then ya it wouldnt be unreasonable to expect their sequel to perform the same way...but they didnt

WW was expected to open at 70 to 75 M....World Wide predictions were 600 M +, With A 225 M Domestic Total-https://pro.boxoffice.com/long-range-forecast-wonder-woman-cap

BP Was expected to Open 90 to 100 M With World Wide Predictions at 650 to 700 M

the facts are these 2 films drastically Over Performed...YOUD have to be a complete idiot to expect their sequels to over perform in the same way...

reply

So odd, might as well cast Kate McKinnon for Poison Ivy and Melissa McCarthy for Catwoman (she probally is one!)

reply

It does seem like odd casting, Wiig always struck me as... the opposite of a badass.

She's a good and versatile actress so anything is possible, but still. I can't say the news excites me.

reply

Rest easy.

Patty Jenkins is directing.

'Nuff said.

reply

True dat!

reply

And James Wan is directing Aquaman...good times ahead for CBM movie fans my friend!

:)

reply

I had a quick look at James Wan's filmography, and it's very heavy on horror, which I don't find encouraging. Bring in someone who's can put some fun on the screen!

Although I do admit that nobody who'd seen Jenkins' "Monster" would think that she could make a fun comic book movie, so we'll see. All we know for sure is that Jenkins is great, and Zack Snyder is out of the picture. Yay.

reply

James Wan directed one of the most successful of the Fast and Furious franchise so he is very adept at action genre as well.

reply

Er, I can't say a "F&F" movie impresses me, but everyone's got to start somewhere.

I really hope the "Aquaman" movie is good, Jason Momoa is one of the hottest men alive, and it'd be nice to see him in something good.

reply

^^^

While I Love Wan and Believe His style was all over Furious 7...

I find it kind of desperate and quite SAD that you are trying to make it seem like Wan is the reason F7 was the most successful F+F film

Paul Walkers death unfortunately Lead to the film Massively over performing...theres nothing about F+F's box office history before or after that suggests the film should have performed the way it did...

Paul Walkers Death clearly resulted in the Film being the most Successful Enter in the franchise

Wan does deserve credit, He did a hell of a job especially given the circumstances and again I believe His Style was all over the film and the action Sequences...but you are clearly trying to give Wan way more credit than he deserve in a very distasteful way just so you can try and hype a DCEU film...

PS...

cant believe you didnt add....Aquaman is gonna be RED HOT coming off Furious 7

reply

Have there been any pictures yet of Cheetah? I saw one headline that said there was but they only had a picture of a woman standing there, I'm assuming it was Kristen Wiig in her civvies.

reply

She's nowhere close to who I wanted for the part. Someone like Charlize Theron or Eva Green. You know, someone actually intimidating.
