Well, that was intense...
And I am reminded of the 1928 film... But, I really do not know what to make of it. The parallels to Joan of Arc are obviously the point, but I really don't quite get the context--which appears to be intentional. There are odd elements like the officers making a point of Joan's wearing "boyish" apparel and trying to make her wear a dress--bizarre in a 2018 military tribunal in Guantanamo. We see nothing of the outside world till a series of stills behind the end titles. And then, just to make sure that things are fully obscure there are a couple of post credit sequences that puzzle me completely.
I suppose I prefer straight narrative, but this is a memorable film.
