If you haven't seen the first 2, can you watch this?

I have seen the first one, but I don't remember it at all because it was like 9 years ago. Never saw the 2nd one. Is this like a continuation of that story or can you watch this on its own

Absolutely. The only reference to something from the previous movies is when the Annabelle doll gets a shoutout. That' it (as far as I remember)

Not that it's major, but they also mention receiving flowers from the Perrons (family from the first).

I don't see why you couldn't, but it's easily the worst of the 3 main movies and better off just skipping it completely.

They are all pretty much standalone films... in each movie they solve a paranormal case.
