Continuity/editing error
In the scene where Bigfoot and Calvin are fighting, and Bigfoot bites off Calvin's ear. There are a few shots after that which clearly show Calvin's ear completely intact. And when Calvin shows up later on, he has the bandage/dressing over his missing ear.
