Watched it because I adore both lead actors. Left too many unanswered questions.

This could have been a really good movie. But it left too many unanswered questions and I hate that kind of thing.
What was Calvin's cover story for getting in to see Hitler?? One does not lightly get to go see him without good reason.
What was in the box?? The engagement ring?? Big box for just that.
Why did Calvin never propose??
What happened to his girlfriend?? She moved away and didn't wait for his return from the war then she died??
Was she already dead when he returned??
Why did he only read 1 of her letters then throw them all away?? Because she was dead??
How did she die??
When did she die?? Before or after Calvin's return??
Why the funeral for Calvin?? If a person is presumed dead, do you not wait for a few years before having a symbolic funeral?? He came back from Canada like a week later with black eye, arm in a sling, and ear bandaged. So then why the funeral?? He obviously wasn't gone long. And it couldn't have been a funeral to pretend he was dead because when he came back, he went straight back to life as he knew it. And nobody asked questions as to why they had a funeral for him.
Why was the creature called "The" Bigfoot?? He's never been referred to as that. He's always been referred to as just Bigfoot.
In this movie's universe, The Bigfoot is known as a factual being by society and not a speculative "does he exist or doesn't he exist" creature??
Why were The Bigfoot's eyes cloudy?? Because of the virus it was carrying??
Was the whole thing just an old man's fantasy and the injuries were really from the carjacking??
Questions, questions, questions, questions.
Sam Elliott's performance was top notch, as usual. But the equally talented Aidan Turner was not given enough material to showcase his incredible acting chops.
Oh and Kaitlyn Fitzgerald's character looked like a clown (her makeup). Also, even though they ended up being a real life couple, her and Aidan Turner didn't seem to have too much chemistry together here.
This could have been a very good movie had the script been more complete. The soundtrack is great though!! And as far as the genre, it is drama, action, adventure, comedy. Because there were some comedic scenes. I really wanted to like this movie more. But just way too much unanswered stuff going on. Because of that, I give it a 5.5/10

I agree, I too was excited to watch this because I like the two leads but the film has no purpose or direction. There are too many loose ends and there was simply no point to the film.

Why was the creature called "The" Bigfoot??

Yeah, that ruined the film for me.

Sometimes a movie just forces the audience to use their own imagination to fill in certain parts, so some of the questions left unanswered didn't ruin it for me. But what was simply unforgivable was big foot. If you want to spend the amount of money they spent on the rest of the movie, then why have a creature that looks like it was created by some high school kids trying to make a movie in their back yard. And if they can't come up with the money for a decent creature then at least don't shoot the movie where you see the ridiculous head of it that look like a bad Halloween mask you pulled out of a dumpster.

I can actually forgive the look of The Bigfoot as it was very ill with a deadly virus. At least that made a bit of sense. Unlike the rest of the movie.
