but loses steam quickly.

Muddled with uneven tone like it's not sure what kinda movie it wants to be.

While I found it mostly watchable the oddly disjointed tonal shifts were somewhat distracting. Rather than a natural genre blend it felt indecisive. Like it wasn't sure if it wanted to be a serious suspense thriller/mystery or a comedy so it just ends up going back and forth but mostly played fairly straight.

Agreed! The ending felt like I was watching Mean Girls when she got whacked by the car. Felt like they had a good thing going and just couldn't keep it together for the whole movie.

I totally agree! It was a great plot, great cast, and then that ending, it was like they were just tired and copied Mean Girls to get it over with.
