Wait! Am I Understanding This Correctly?

That according to Christina, they can’t save Dee, only prolong her life somewhat, no matter what they do, even if they do get the book of names. Am I understanding all of this correctly? So not to be really cruel or anything but why are they going through all of this? Tic agrees to go off with Christina & basically die. I’m really confused about all of this.

Btw Christina did catch up with Lancaster who was STILL alive just before he died. Maybe she should’ve tried something, got something off of him in order to help the child then when she had the chance. But that’s just me, what do I know? That’s really a hard sell telling Ruby “I need his blood....all of it”.

Oh & I’m getting tired of the dynamic between Tic & Montrose. They hate each other, they make up & have a moment then he tells him he’s done. WTH? Stop with this nonsense & decide what direction to take it in finally. This doesn’t make sense.

Here’s everything you need to know about the character Dee in Lovecraft Country.

Diana has an altercation with Captain Landcaster, who places a curse on her. Since he placed the curse on her, she starts to see two demonic versions of Topsy from Uncle Tom’s Cabin that start to mess with her. In order to get these demons off her back, Dee decides to take matters into her own hands. Diana confronts Captain Landcaster in his office and demands to tell her what he wants in exchange for the curse. Dee wants these demons off her back but she knows Lancaster is not going to help her.

As Diana is waiting to fight Topsy and Bospy, we see her draw her experience with them into a comic strip. Even though she can’t speak about what’s happening to her with her family, she uses her drawing to express how she feels. Diana isn’t afraid to fight back after her run-in with Captain Landcaster putting a spell on her. During the spell, Lancaster put his spit on her and let it stay there knowing it wasn’t right. When Diana came back into his office later on in the episode, she spits right back at him and cursed him out. It showed a fearlessness in her that even though this was happening to her, she still had power and wasn’t afraid to use it.

Can Atticus save his cousin and lift the curse from her?

Since this was written we also saw TIC come to the REALIZATION that he may be more than just DEE's COUSIN (due to the way he may also be her HALF BROTHER because TIC's mother also had an affair with DEE's father).

And since CHRISTINA also said it would take the BLOOD of a RELATIVE to cure DEE of the CURSE, TIC also didn't know at that time that he might be her brother. But now that her MOTHER is back again, that should also mean HER BLOOD can be used to CURE her???

But that still doesn't explain why Christina let's the COP DIE when she knows DEE needs him to REVERSE the SPELL. So one remains just as CONFUSED as you regarding that issue.

And MONTROSE still insisting that TIC's his son also leaves one just as confused about WTF is going on with them as well. Those 2 characters definitely take the LOVE/HATE relationship to another whole new kind of a level.

Here's some parts of another article that RECAPS what happened:

https://www.rollingstone.com/tv/tv-recaps/lovecraft-country-recap-episode-9-rewind-1921-tulsa-1073598/

Diana is dying from the curse Captain Lancaster placed on her, and Christina informs our heroes that the only way to undo it is with The Book of Names, which burned in Tulsa along with most of Tic’s mother’s family. So the episode is going back to the scene of the crime

Christina agrees to temporarily reset the curse to buy them more time, but only in exchange for Atticus willingly going to Ardham with her so she can use his blood to cast her immortality spell. Montrose confesses to Tic that George might be his biological father;

and Hippolyta returns from the many lifetimes of “I Am” to save her daughter by any means necessary.

And then there’s the spine-tingling, paradoxical moment when Tic realizes that the heroic young man with the baseball bat from his father and uncle’s most famous story is… Atticus Freeman, who just so happens to see a bat lying by his feet.

Leti marches through the flames, the all-important book clutched to her chest. Unlike Hattie and all the other women whose deaths she is forced to witness, she cannot be physically hurt by any of this, thanks to Christina’s invulnerability spell. Because unfortunately, superhuman powers are sometimes the only way out of problems created by the worst of humanity’s impulses.

It’s a great climax, but one that doesn’t entirely feel of a piece with the rest of the episode. Taking the action back to Tulsa is perhaps the series’ biggest swing yet. And for once, Lovecraft Country doesn’t entirely connect.

* Turns out that Captain Lancaster is only mostly dead as a result of the shoggoth attack, which allows us to get an explanation for his black torso: His men have been murdering black men and using them for “spare parts” each time their leader is badly injured. Only this time, Christina has cast a spell that is keeping him from healing.

So maybe the COP is also still alive and isn't dead yet because the SPELL that Christina casts upon him is to let him DIE a SLOW and PAINFUL death??? So maybe he just PASSED OUT for a moment or so before he'll regenerate and then be alive again??

Unless that BOOK LETI got also contains some INFO TIC can use as a way to SAVE DEE???

That would probably also mean they wouldn't nead the COP to UNDUE the CURSE on her???

Here's another article that confirms the COP is DEAD and explains what happened:

https://www.cbr.com/lovecraft-country-christina-kills-lancaster-helped-ruby/

Lancaster was last seen being torn apart by the Super-Shoggoth Tic inadvertently summoned with his protection spell outside Leti's home. However, Christina, in William's form, saunters into Lancaster's office where she finds his minions trying to regenerate the villain. Lancaster's body covered is covered by Black skin, but as his lackeys noted, the process, which clearly involved them maiming and using the body parts of African Americans, just isn't working anymore.

She salivates over his agony as she wants his suffering to match what he did to her loved ones, particularly William, in the past. The big twist is she removes the magical relic she had Ruby place under his desk a few episodes back which stunted his healing, and as she watches him die, it's sweet revenge. It's something Christina has wanted for a while, and seeing as she preferred him dying than using his blood to revive Diana back at the Freeman residence, it's clear Christina needed Lancaster off the table to plan for her autumnal equinox.

So apparently it was the OBJECT that Christina had RUBY place inside of his office that DEFEATS the COP (who must have also put a spell on the place to keep Christina out of it)??? But IF William can still GET INSIDE of it, then why did CHRISTINA need RUBY to put it there in the first place???

And it also appears that KILLING the COP was more important to CHRISTINA than SAVING the LIFE of DEE (due to the way he was also standing in her way of being able to achieve her goal of IMMORTALITY).

And maybe that choice may also come back to HAUNT HER again ... if RUBY also decides to CHOSE her FAMILY over the goal that Christina has for becoming IMMORTAL???

And It also explains how RUBY has taken the side of CHRISTINA (for now), and predicts a confrontation will take place between her and LETI over the death of TIC (because it also says RUBY sees TIC and MONTROSE as being the cause of all of their problems ... due to the way they started when TIC shows back up again after he's been to KOREA).

QUOTE:

Ruby thinks Tic is the blight because since he came back from his Korean War stint, it's only been death and destruction. Ruby also doesn't like Montrose's hostile ways

Ruby knows Christina was using her as a spy in the past, but because she's in love with Christina, she has no problem choosing her potential significant other over family. And with Ruby mentioning to Leti she's fine with Tic dying as long as it saves Leti, her half-sister, a major red flag appears. Interestingly, the preview for the season finale shows Ruby scowling and seemingly acting as Christina's pawn when the equinox occurs, so Leti may have to fight her own kin sooner rather than later if she wants to save the father of her unborn child.

So apparently RUBY is just as sick and tired of the TIC and MONTROSE NONSENSE as you are, and that could also be interesting to see RUBY being in opposition to her own SISTER in the FINALE. But My guess is she'd still also chose the side of LETI over CHRISTINA if it came down to that.

And IF it also turns out LETI is also the offspring of CHRISTINA's father, and is her HALF SISTER, that could also make matters that much more twisted. But without growing up knowing that's the case, LETI's feelings would most likely still be stronger for RUBY.

And MAYBE what this means is we're heading for some kind of a MESSY HAMLET type of conclusion for S1 (where the QUEEN drinks the poisoned wine meant for the KING, while Hamlet does battle with the SWORD that's also been dipped in POISON, etc. etc. etc. Perhaps the LOVER of MONTROSE can also say "GOODNIGHT SWEET PRINCE" to MONTROSE as he holds him in his arms (along with the other line about the ANGELS WINGING him to his rest) ???

That could also be a GOOD TRANSITION POINT to where we'd then see the GUARDIAN ANGEL (who might also look like Dee's mom or like that other SPACE CREATURE that she encountered before) refusing to let CHRISTINA into the GARDEN of EDEN.
