Excellent show with some trippy elements and a dash of nightmare fuel
I'm enjoying the show overall. I can imagine that the level of racism depicted in the show is very accurate for the time and probably only scratches the surface of the full extent of same. In fact, I'm surprised that this show was released in the wake of BLM given that many of the themes seen therein would be triggering from the outset. Nevertheless, the acting is superb all around and I can see it launching the careers for those in the show who aren't yet established in Hollywood.
Anyway, I've just finished watching episode 7 and have only 3 more to go. Much of the visuals in the show are very trippy giving me a slew of "what the fuck did I just watch?" moments. I won't mention any specifics for fear of giving away spoilers. The appearance of the monsters in the show is nothing short of nightmare fuel and are in true H.P. Lovecraft (obviously) style. Also, many of the monster designs seen throughout the works of Stephen King, John Carpenter and Guillermo Del Toro are heavily inspired by H.P. Lovecraft himself.
