One thing that bothers me about this show is it's use of current music instead of music from the time period the show is set in. It takes me out of the show immediately when I hear the wrong sounds for the era being represented prominently in the mix. And I don't understand why the show's producers & directors are doing it; I'm sure I can't be the only person who gets tugged right out of the viewing experience by the poor choices of tunes.
Simply put you’re wrong. It does have a lot of music that does fit the period & some music that’s current, so it does have both so I don’t understand the criticism.
I won't say you're "wrong". . .that's an absurd response, as there's no "wrong" opinion on whether something works for you or not. Further, I can *completely* understand your viewpoint; it *is* jarring. But you may want to consider that it's PURPOSEFULLY jarring; that the creators are doing it for precisely that reason, and that you may be missing some crucial subtext, therefore.
TL/DR: the showrunners are clearly Very well versed in music; their choices are just as clearly intended to hit well-defined marks, for well-defined reasons.
Oh, you’re seemingly still sticking with it even though u bored? Or just referring to the first few episodes you watched before you gave up? Heh.
Well regardless, I disagree one of the many complainers of this show up in this privileged raging white bro-filled joint. Sure, I get why some will take issue with this aspect of the show (same goes for a show like Peaky Blinders and its noice - much more frequent - usage of modern music), but I like what they’re doing with the modern music here. It’s been appropriately used (never overdone) and I think it works for a fairly unsettling and surreal show that in many ways feels, well, modern. Btw, keep being salty social injustice ‘Murica first chumps that cannot stand seeing their kind be accurately portrayed like the bigots they are.
