I'm just watching this now and one of the characters says this around the 44-minute mark.

Is that supposed to be an in-joke for gamers (it's the name of the facility that the groundbreaking video game Half-Life is set in, in case you don't know) ?

About five minutes after it came up, there's a flashback of him driving in the car with his wife (gf? I'm not sure) and he's talking about a job opportunity. I think she then says something about "Mesa" too ..

Decent film so far.
Reminds me of Moon.
I really like Theo James - he's the most non-actor actor I've seen in ages, if that makes sense.
Every role I've seen him in he just plays it cool and almost under-acts his scenes.

Absolutely.
Also in the beginning when you see Theo James wearing glasses in that company suite,he looks exactly like Gordon Freeman.

has to have been a nod to it, else it's an obscure plagiarism. albeit a forgivable one.
