This is a good movie about the Korean revolt against military government
a little hard to watch with subtitles, but pretty good. 8/10

shareJust watched it and thought it was good.
shareDefinitely good!
shareI was expecting a comedy based on the cover art and first 20 or so minutes. Then it became anything but a comedy. I don't like being bait & switched like that. 4/10.
shareIt was not so bad, except the fast and furious Gwangju drift sequence in the later part of the movie.
shareI thought that sequence was pretty cool -- a bit over the top? Sure, but it was a nice payoff to finally seeing the taxi put to use other than being used as an impetus of Kim's cowardice to ferry him away from conflict.
shareAlso rated it an 8/10.
I loved the slow burn elements of this movie and how it steadily escalated toward a pretty rewarding climax. It was really well done. A lot of South Korea's historical films are quite informative but also very personalised, all without being subverted for the effect of the "modern audience" that ESG-funded projects like to pander to so much.
