Get out was amazing... but I’m missing something? *spoilers hidden*

*FYI CONTAINS SPOILERS - they should be hidden*

Get out was amazing, whether you loved it or liked it. I highly doubt many people hated it. I even loved the ended Peele chose as it was a reflection of modern times and how he wished things could have went it it were the real world.

However...

My bf and I just saw ‘Us’ last night at a pre screen and either myself, my bf, and the whole audience for that matter (packed theatre)
missed something, or as I overheard one woman say to her group or friends that were agreeing with her to that “she would be okay if it was on Netflix, but never something she would go out to a theater and purchase a ticket for.”

Not that it matters, the audience was prodomedently black (African American) and I was thrilled to see a horror film that depict a normal black family without tearing down other races. Also, I was like “hell yeah” bc the African American family didn’t die first (or at all).

The acting was superb, but I’m missing something.
I will continue to read on. Something has GOT to give.
especially the Jeremiah 11 11 and how that came turned into a theme for the movie. I did look it up, but it didn’t appear to have anything to do with the plot?
I’d love to hear others thoughts!

Overall , the movie was fast paced (I read somewhere that people were calling in boring. No it was not boring.

Jeremiah 11:11 shows up on a placard held by one of the homeless people in Santa Cruz, and the numbers 11:11 also appear on an alarm clock at one point. (Because they’re doubles, get it?!)

“Therefore thus saith the Lord, Behold, I will bring evil upon them, which they shall not be able to escape; and though they shall cry unto me, I will not hearken unto them.” (Other Biblical translations substitute "disaster" or "calamity" for "evil".)
