Best in the series by far
Looking at threads in here (and Rotten on RT) its like its unanimous it sucks, i was never much a fan of the KM series, the first was OK as a Bond like parody with a great cast of Firth as the Bond like secret agent, Strong as Q, Caine as M, SLJ as the Bond villain (aside the ridiculousness of the hyper vibe, over the top violence/smut etc), the second American version was not good (Firth alive after the head shot? Pascal in meat grinder? Elton John kicking ass? lol).
Anyway didn't have high hopes for this after the last one, it looked abit dull/WW1 set prequel, and it bombed etc but Ralph Fiennes as the Steed like lead was intriguing as was the idea of tying into real war history (like Inglorious Bastards).. But watched whole thing through (had it saved on TV from Film4) and wow it was really good. Like a WW1 Bond film with Fiennes becoming the Bond like lead in the shocking twist (a reverse of the 1st film) complete with Bond girl leading to the epic FYEO/MI Fallout finale, historical figures almost like marvel characters (with Hitler in an MCU like end credits), not so much over the top ridiculous violence/smut (no Eggsy), great cast (three Bond actors, and maybe a potential 4th?), and also a sort of celebration of Fiennes' back catalogue (English Patient, Avengers, Bond/M)
