Worst "superhero" trilogy ever!

Honestly, these three movies are BORING. If this is MNS' pet project, then it SUCKS!

Maybe it's because I'm not a huge fan of superheroes, aside from Superman and Batman and the occasional quirky one like Deadpool and Kick-Ass, but this exploration of comic book characters is really rather dull.

I saw Unbreakable when it came out in cinemas and aside from the novel concept of Bruce Willis being able to survive anything, and Samuel Jackson being the total opposite, as well as the ugly kid from Gladiator, it was really rather forgettable.

I didn't like Split, neither: some multiple-personality nut goes around kidnapping girls, and one of his personalities is a monster. Big deal. Again, I only saw that film once back when it came out, and I don't see the appeal of it.

And now we come to Glass, and whilst it features all three of the "superheroes", they're not the focus at all, but their incarceration in a nuthouse and the shrink who determines their fate. In the end, they are all brutally killed by their weaknesses. When you find out the hidden organisation behind her, it's a fourth entity thrown in at the last minute which is never explored, and they are beaten anyway.

I just felt totally underwhelmed with this series and I didn't like it in the end. Totally forgettable.

I disagree. Unbreakable grounded super heroes. You don't need space travel and the end of the world to make a character's struggle interesting. Unbreakable was about self discovery and betrayal. It was great.
Split was a out umpredictability and suffering with the mind of many. James McAvoy nailed the role. It was a simple story of working with and getting away from tbe same person.
Glass wasn't as good as the other two. But it had ideas far greater than Thanos killing to save on resources. Next film, hell lose as the super heroes fly around, destroy cities, stop a big blue beam from firing into the sky snd making lame jokes.

Enjoy your comic book movies. At least Shamalan made his own thing without taking from marvel or DC.

Misread "not". Point still stands. Replace Thanos with any other villain. Its all the same in the end.

Better to have seen movies so I can decide whether I like them or not, and definitely not to speak from ignorance. Don't you agree?

I barely remember it. But I already (sort of) saw it recently on CinemaSins, so that's enough for me. Christ, that Gladiator kid grew up ugly!

Disagree. I saw the first Pirates of the Caribbean in the theaters, and it was fun, but nothing I would watch again. I wouldn't say I liked it necessarily.

I watched part of the second with my nephews, and it was just atrocious. I had no intent to continue after that.

I happened to catch Pirates #3 with some friends in 2016, and WOW, I loved it!

Same with Harry Potter: First one was so blah. Second one? I have no clue but I think I saw it. I happened to watch #3 and loved it. Did not continue after that, though.

Agreed, i've seen the other two, and i'm halfway done with Glass, and about to just turn it off. What a bunch of low budget drivel!!

The idea has a lot of potential but they were all poorly done.

I recently described the idea to someone who never saw the films like this: They're about superheroes who are maybe 50% better than a normal human.

I think that would make for good low level superhero story.

I have always looked at characters in the Superman range to be nearly horror movie stuff if you sit back and think about it. Imagine if Superman and his enemies were real. It would be terrifying to think that right now Superman is fighting some monster and he might kick it a 1,000 miles and it will land into your town.

Meanwhile, what if there were mutants, as in this film, that weren't Superman level, but about 50% stronger, faster, etc than normal people. How would that play out?

I think that's what these films were going for, but they needed better writers.
