Moments after he nearly drowned he was put back in the water and I suppose he was unable to break free from his killer’s grip because fighting The Beast (Dunn finally met his match) in the water tank clearly took a lot out of him. One can say breaking through the tank was all the fight Dunn had left in him — at least until he was able to recover. And to be fair, Dunn was noticeably having a hard time trying to recover after nearly being choked out by The Beast in the water tank.... then before you knew it he was dragged back into the water. As such, we’re supposed to believe that Dunn became THAT powerless.
But believable way to get killed or not, it is frustrating and puzzling to see David be completely helpless when it feels like there was something he could have done. We got Shyamalan’d!
