I loved unbreakable disliked split and really love glass. I wonder if people who loved unbreakable really don't like Glass because of the death or deaths at the end and no big battle scene. the death and plot twist surprised me but it made me like the movie more.

shareagreed 1000% - at first I was pissed about David in particular, but I loved the finality and triumph of the final scene, where each of the trio's "sidekicks" manage to avenge them posthumously and defeat Staple's millennia-old conspiracy.
It wasn't great filmmaking, but it worked for me. Case-in-point, Staple's exposition, explaining how Glass played them and beat them, followed by her frustrated scream - it was ham-handed and crass, but still satisfying. At least to me.
I love all three films. Split? The more I watch it, the more I dare say I’m liking it as much as Unbreakable. Yup. Maybe that’ll happen with Glass. Excellent trilogy.
That said, I’ve been sort of conflicted about the deaths in Glass. The fact that our superpowered characters were killed isn’t necessarily what bothered me (alright, it is). I would say it’s simply the way it all happened and the reason behind things which makes me feel like everything was, perhaps, a waste. Dunn’s death in particular felt so unjust. Sure I didn’t need an absolute grand and happy finale, but I can’t help it if I feel that things ended somewhat anti-climatically and that these characters deserved better (mainly Dunn). But unhappy ending aside (well, the secret organization was exposed so it was not all bad), there can be legitimate criticism made about the way things unfolded.
At the same time, the deaths and the twist are a major reason why this film impacted me the way it did. In true Shyamalan fashion, things ended as one would expect... that is, the unexpected happened. So regardless of how bummed I was about the fate of the characters at first, finding out the mastermind that is Mr. Glass set everything up to ensure the real villains of the story lost - and the way he basically kicked off his own superhero universe - was probably how things were... always destined to end? Ultimately, justice was served. So yeah, as frustrating as it felt, it is possible the surprising yet justified outcome made me appreciate the film more.
Your bummerness makes me believe I'm on the right track. Your very open about it so is beyond trl ''grace''. Mark Kermode liked it but sounded like he was apologizing the whole time. Chris (I like him) Stuckman was all over the map. It made me think it was because Chris was bummed 'cause of the deaths.
