Did they implied Hobbs was gay?

His past encounter with ryan reynold (they explicitly said they've slept together), then he shows the photo to his daughter, its clearly him and a man but he remarks how he loved him and betrayed him. And then when he came back, there was tension all along and in the end they hug but even when they tried to show a brotherly love, it feels odd and tense.
Obviously, his past is not fully shown and nowadays he flirts at women and even in the end he kisses the girl (just kiss, they don't get back to the sunset and all) but probably in the past he was homosexual.
That doubt ticked me the whole movie and I couldn't enjoyed at it best.

Who the hell cares? I saw the film, and enjoyed the hell out of it, mainly because I'd seen the last four F&F movies, and already knew who the characters were. I liked the idea of these two characters who hated each other's guts teaming up for the greater good. And I loved the fact that the main female character could kick as much a** as they did, and the fact that she was fun as hell to watch. And the film was funny too----it was even more fun seeing Idris Elba as the bad guy. That being said, I'd like to see a sequel, since the movie crushed everything at the box office, and was a huge worldwide hit.

Ryan Reynold's character used to be a woman before she undergoes sex change surgery.

I don't think so. The point of the jokes was that the gay situations where embarrassing for Hobbs, so him being gay defeats the purpose.
