Why not have included Obama honoring them in the movie?

I thought the movie was great! And I loved Hollande's speech at the end. But since those are three Americans who served in American armies I felt it would have been pretty significant to see them being honored by the American President as well.

Any thoughts on why this wasn't included?

Eastwood himself is a conservative, so he wouldn't have depicted Obama honoring the heroes (I have some doubts about Obama myself..didn't even vote for him anyhow)

I thought about that too. But France's François Hollande is a very liberal Socialist. Why is he fair game but Obama is not?
