Box office people follow the movies NOT the Studio....
your just ODD...You for some reason get weirdly invested in STUDIOS instead of movies....
I dont really care how a studio does, neither does the majority of Box off people...the Sole reason I bring up WB,Disney and Now Universal to because I hate you and want to ruin your life...
I know you Want WB to do good...So I've done research and found out WB is right DEAD in the Middle of A horrible streak of BOMBS...I know you Hate, HATE Disney, So I've done research and found out Disney Is literally having unprecedented Success right now and the last 5 years, no Studio is even close to the Success of Disney...and because you made it clear with this thread you love Universal, I did the research and found out NOTHING you said was accurate...Universal has had some of the worst and Most Expensive BOMBS of all time in the last 8 years...
its odd, YOUR the Studio Guy....yet hilariously I've come to understand Studios Way more than you...I do the research, Find out the accurate information then ABUSE With it...You on the other are forced to try and distort reality because You cant except what The INFO states.!
Their deal with Blumhouse is EXCLUSIVE and they get the bulk of the money, dummy.
^^^
I dont ever remember arguing over who got the money....
I just specifically remember saying BLUMHOUSE is on a unprecedented Streak...and that they are getting SOLE recognition for They films becoming hits!
the facts are when sites and people talk about these movies they are crediting BLUMHOUSE...
Blumhouse is producing these films, they are responsible for the scripts, picking directors, casting, they are Making these Excellent film on extremely low budgets that Universal then distributes...
Its also worth noting,,,Blumhouse Signed their Distribution deal with Universal in 2014...This is important because by this point BLUMHOUSE was already established with many hit films and a HOT Commodity...Meaning its extremely likely BLUMHOUSE got a great Deal when they signed with Universal demanding the majority of the money made from these films
Universals job as Distributor is SOLELY to Market the film and set a release date...
Meaning...Universal didnt have anything to do with how the films was made, why the film was good....That 1000% on BLUMHOUSE....
Universals deal with BLUMHOUSE probably is something like this....BLUMHOUSE gets first Everything....lets take Truth or Dare...the film was made on a budget of 3.5 M...
Once the film comes out, BLUMOHUSE gets 100% of the box office until they recoup their Budget back and break even....then Once the film is in the clear, Universal and BlUMHOUSE split the profit for whatever they negotiated when they signed their deal in 2014...and again given how hot Blumhouse was....it may be something like 80/20 or 70/30 for BLUMHOUSE...
so no Queen...Universal doesnt get the BULK of the money....once again you didnt understand Box office and didnt understand what Exclusive means...
Exclusive in this case simply means, whatever original Ideas BLUMHOUSE comes up with, They have to go to Universal first and give them the option to distribute the movie...If Universal decides to pass, BLUMHOUSE is free to go to other studios...
Universal signed Blumhouse to a 10 picture FIRST LOOK Deal...First look means exactly what I just said...
If blumhouse decided on a script/idea and decided they are going to make a movie, They Have to go to Universal FIRST and giving them the option to decide if they want to distribute it or not!
Universal doesnt have a thing to do with how the film is made or why the film turns out good...
Blumhouse goes to them, says, this is our next movie, explains the concept, why they believe in the film, tells them how long it will take to film, gives them a schedule they are shooting for then, tell them the budget, Universal then talks it over, decides if they believe in the film, decided if they want to market it and release it, Universal says Yes, and BLUMHOUSE goes and makes the movie, Universal is DONE until Blumhouse delivers the finished movie for a release date
