I was also manipulated by the reviews and the rating.
This show is a joke. It is genuinely hard for me to believe that any serious horror buff actually liked this show.
Most of the reviews are fake. If you look at all the negative views, you can see they have figured this out too.
It is obvious as soon as you watch the show.

2 of my friends watched this too and had the exact same response as me. The ACTUAL people watching this on their own can see it for the terrible show it is. Whereas everyone acting like this is the next Exorcist CLEARLY worked on the film and/or were paid to say so.

Yeah it's called a difference of opinion. I would rate this show 9/10 and I didn't work on it. I loved it and I know plenty of others who feel the same.

I thought the acting was stellar - some of the best I'd ever seen in fact. Did you even watch the episode with the family arguing in the funeral home, the one done in basically three long takes a-la Birdman? Sure, maybe there were some hidden edits there, but do you have any idea how difficult it is to stay in character for long takes like that?

I do have problems with this series, especially the ham-handed ending which was so out of place, but acting? Seriously?

I heard great things, checked out the trailer and that alone almost put me to sleep.

bringing up and suggesting the show only has a high rating because Of FAKE REVIEWS is a classic trolling technique, and if your not trolling then it suggests your angry the show is so highly rated and angry others dont agree with you thats it bad...

your entire post was fine until you brought up FAKE reviews....Your post then went from Just your opinion to and Angry,delusional rant....

had you simply said all the nasty things you wanted about the show and Then ended it with "Ill never understand why this show has a high rating", that would have been fine, you would have made your points that you hate the show and dont agree with the ratings

Instead you took to another level and Tried TO Discredit the rating and tried to claim everybody must be wrong or all reviews must be fake and YOU are right that Its terrible....

just so you know(again I think your RAJH , so you probably already know this)....But if not, Hill Houses rating is actually not 9.1....

Its 8.9....IMDB has a Top 250 rating, right now Hill House is #26 with an 8.9 rating....The reason why The Top 250 ratings is different is because IMDB vets the posters who rates....On the Top 250, They have a code they use to weed out trolls,fake accounts and bots....They only count proven reliable members, who's voted consistently for a number of years, their ratings are always in the averages and theyve rated at least a thousand movies or TV shows....

Bottom line....IMDB rating is pretty reliable....

If you dont trust them though....

go to Metascore where Hill House also has excellent scores...

If They doesnt float your boat, go to Rottentomates where 55 out of 59 professional critics gave it excellent reviews resulting in a 92% rating with an EXCELLENT 8.3/10 average rating...

Bottom Line...of course there are some fake reviews, literally every movie has them....But unfortunately for you literally ALL DATA Unequivocally points to The show is just really good and over 90% of the people that watch it like it and Give it great ratings....

you are more than within your right to hate the show and even ignore all these facts,sites,ratings and reviews....

personally Id think it would be a lot easier just to except your in the minority and you simply dislike a show others really like....but hey if you want to go the angry, delusional route....thats your right

I feel the same, watched two episodes with my girlfriend and we knew it was going to be bad when you are waiting for the episode to end. Each one ended the same with a twist 30 seconds before the end of the episode.

Felt robbed of two hours where we could of watched something a bit more entertaining, like Bad Boys 2

Some of the acting was alright. But I agree that there was a LOT of awfully painful dialogue, especially the way that characters kept dropping f-bombs all over the place, just because they could. It felt like the scripts were written by a teenager trying to be edgy. Many of the lines and conversations didn't feel organic or natural, it felt like the actors were saying dumb lines given to them to say. ESPECIALLY in the cringe-fest funeral episode. Also, there are times when the show stops everything while one character sits and has a long monologue, basically trying to catch back up and explain SOMETHING, give the audience SOMETHING of background and plot filler. Because otherwise, the show is a collection of images and events, loosely tied together. That's how it felt to me, anyway.

I think that Stranger Things has its problems. Seasons 2 and 3 especially, to me, gradually go downhill and start getting pretty dumb, compared to the relatively brilliant first season. But that first season was well done, and had good, organic characters, dialogue, and conversations.
