'Parasite' Voted Best Picture by Toronto Film Critics Association

It also won Best Picture and Director at the LA Film Critics, has received three Golden Globe nominations including Director and Screenplay and is slaying in the guild nominations so far, including becoming the first film not in English to pull off a SAG cast nomination in over 20 years. Parasite is absolutely in the hunt for the Oscars, and is probably a top three Best Picture contender.
shareParasite >>>>> The Irishman (too long, too wrong, Sheeran was a real parasite)
Parasite vs. Marriage Story (not even close)
As for the Academy Awards, I'm not sure how the academy voters will vote. Roma fell short in 2019. Usually, they put foreign films as a separate entry of Best International Feature Film award, as you know.
It will win Best Foreign Film, I think.
shareRoma was a two and a half hour, virtually plotless art film. Parasite is a genuine crowd-pleaser which also has a lot of social relevance. I'm not saying it's certainly going to win, but it's a definite contender.
As well as Parasite's obvious shortcomings (having its own category where it should win in a walk), the other top contenders - The Irishman, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, Marriage Story - all have weaknesses of their own. I suspect that the Best Picture race could go down to the wire this season.
