prequel/sequel to Interstellar? (spoilers)
a future dying of eco disaster.. ?.. future humanity using time travel to save themselves?
That's pretty close to what was going on in Interstellar . Michael Caine in this could even be his Interstellar characters ancestor. Ok they sort of solved it at the end of Interstellar but that could be just one outcome of multiple realities/universes (as RPatz talks about) or maybe things went south again in the Interstellar future and they had to come up with something else (the algorithms)
