The cliché of the protagonist falling in love with the villain's wife and risking everything for her life.

shareYes, this was particularly bad and unconvincing. My eyes rolled out of my head every time he threw away everything for this chick he barely knows. This whole movie had a pretty weak plot, but that relationship was probably the weakest link that took me out of the immersion at times.
shareNot only that but Debiki played the exact same character in the exact situation in The Night Manager.
Tenet was a big disappointment.
It was unclear to me that he loved her. Perhaps, but they barely even kissed - maybe due to the interracial casting they didn't want to push the romantic angle.
However, I was also thinking he just needed her, because she was a necessary piece for the past to turn out as it did. No doubt, he was sympathetic to her plight with the kid though.
it was a twist of the old cliché, he just wanted to bang her
