How does eating work, exactly, in the inverted world?
does poop come from the sewers and into your butt, and then you "vomit" the food? :/

shareThe world is not inverted. People and things can be made inverted, by using turnstiles or other means.
For inverted people, they can still affect the normal world, albeit the inverted physic will make things "awkward". Eating should be possible, although it's probably safer just to eat inverted food. They were shown bringing inverted air, bringing food should not be that hard.
But yeah, a normal observer would see an inverted person do what you describe.
