Tenet is the first post-covid movie to reach its budget
It's a $200M movie, box office right now is $207M.
Don't get me wrong, it's still a flop. A movie requires about 3-4 times its budget to break even, marketing considered. But it's still the first post-covid movie to date that has been able to reach that number¹.
New Mutants had a $80M budget, it got $30M box office. Mulan had a $300M budget, right now it's $37M.
We'll see how WW84 does. It's another $200M movie. Will it be able to reach that number?

¹ I mean: in Hollywood. 'The Eight Hundred', a Chinese movie released a few weeks ago, has reached $390M box office with a $80M budget. It could actually become the top worldwide box office this year.
