350m , Corona will impact box office

WW will be bad, maybe 300 - 350m.

Probably would be better to wait til summer next year.

I agree, I think they will use tenet as an experimental trial-and-error for other future releases.
This film will take a huge profit loss. I would wait to release it sometime next year.

Personaly I would see this 2nd weekend anyway to stay away from the crowd. With Corona I will wait until the last few days to see it. Maybe this one has legs.

If it's good, has great word of mouth this could push people back to the cinemas and it could have gigantic legs. Hopefully at the cheap price they have been gifting us in the UK since reopening with classic movies, I would see it more than once and people are gagging to do things they couldn't do before even if they didn't care about cinema before. It could be Avatar event style feel, it just needs marketing to pound into peoples heads that they need to experience the cinema.

The marketing so far is straight and doesn't tap into that. It needs to tell the sheep in big loud letters "YOU NEED TO BE PART OF THIS THING!". It doesn't matter what the thing is or the quality of the thing. The masses need to be told they need to be part of it. Tenet hype up to now is not doing that, thats marketing's problem. The legs will carry it the rest of the way, dependent on quality, that's Nolans problem.

"Unhinged" on the other hand is trying to hit that spot where its one of the first films on reopening coupled with the antimasker crazy Trump fan vibe may make more money than if it was a film destined to be buried in quiet months and make nothing.

I don't think it will flop. Tickets are being sold out in the UK already. However, It definitely won't make Endgame numbers due to theatres being capped at 50% capacity, so the numbers will obviously be lower regardless.

Also, I don't think Corona will be much of a deterrent either. People flocked to bars, restaurants, and beaches when they opened up. I'm sure that movie theatres will be no exception. The only thing that may hurt it is the mask mandates. Some people may not to suffocate in a mask for 3 hours watching a film, so they'll opt to wait for home release instead.
