I think 'Tenet' means 'Travel Net', perhaps 'Time Travel Net'

In the trailer, the main character says 'I only have a word for you: tenet'

We don't know whether the spelling is correct. Perhaps he just heard it and he's misspelling it. Perhaps it's not 'Tenet' but 'T-Net'.

'T-Net' can be an acronym for Training Net, or Transport Net, or Travel Net (or Time Net, maybe?). This movie includes time travel, so T-Net could refer to some kind of Time Travel Net or Time Transport Net.

They needed a palindrome, something that is the same forward and back since the movie deals with time moving in reverse.

Of course it's a palindrome, Nolan makes it crystal clear in the title itself, with the second E and T reversed. And I guess the story itself will have some similar features too, to be read in different directions (while making sense). I wouldn't expect any less from Nolan.

But the word itself, beyond being a palindrome, sounds the same a 'T-Net', which is an acronym that can be used for a Transport Net. This case, maybe, a Net that travels/transports through Time.

probably also means Ten/neT as in it will involve going back/forward in time 10 minutes or 10 hours
